Travis Eugene Thompson, 49, of Lynchburg, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021. He was born in North Carolina on September 11, 1972. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Peggy Goff Orange and Collins Orange; his father, Cecil DeVon Thompson; brothers, Charles Devon Thompson and wife Joyce, David Alexander Thompson and wife Deborah, Dwayne Anthony Bagby, Jr. and wife Laura; nieces, Jamie Overstreet, Virginia Bagby; and nephews, Justin Overstreet, Jesse Overstreet, Samuel Bagby, Dee Calloway, and Quavio Calloway. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel, 1235 Walnut St., Bedford, with Rev. Wayne Lawhorn officiating. A burial will follow in Peaks Church Community Cemetery. Fleta Irene Ragland, 67, of Rustburg, VA passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, December 15, 2021. She was born on April 21, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Otha Morris and Daisy Beatrice Ragland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Charles Ragland; and one sister, Minnie Ragland. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Jennifer Redmond (Joe), Emily Grubb (Michael); two granddaughters, Faith and Kiera Redmond; two grandsons, Skylar and Ethan Grubb; five sisters, Nancy Grant, Helen Bryant, Betty Parrish, Barbara Sowell, Carol Wood; three brothers, Prentice, Otha, Jr., and Earl Ragland. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Grace Baptist Church, 337 Lakeview Drive, Madison Heights, VA with Pastor Adam Staton officiating. Edward “Keith” Stuart, 63, lovingly referred to as both “Keith” and “Ed” left for his Holy home on December 13, 2021.We are certain of a joyous reunion in Heaven for him with his loving mother, Barbara Jean Stuart; little sister, Lanora “Lori” Booth (Jeff Booth); son-in-law, Jerry Woolwine; ex-wife and friend, Sharon Stuart, as well as his grandparents; Kenneth Worth and Rosa Ayers Stuart, Edward William and Nora Dutton Lambert, and many other loved ones who preceded him. Grieving their loss yet celebrating his life are his adored daughter; Nicole Renea Woolwine, his cherished grandsons; Ashton Lewis and Dakota Keith Woolwine, his beloved father, Warren Keith Stuart; his big sister, Rose Ann Ferris (RD Cook, Richard Ferris); his little brother, Ken Stuart (Susan); his sister-in-law, Dawn McDowell; his brother-in-law, Douglas Minnix; his many nieces & nephews, Desiree, Drew, Aaron, Max, Heather, Haley, and Lindsay; his cousin and mischief partner, Liz (and her children); special companion and friends, Donna, Robert, Timmy, Gary, and many more who he loved and who cherished him. Keith was a United States Navy Veteran, having joined right out of high school and served in both Okinawa and Guam. He settled in the Stewartsville area of Bedford County. He was a true outdoorsman, he especially loved to hunt and to garden. He was a diehard fan of the Washington Redskins. He was an electrician by trade; a real handyman, and definitely a comedian by character. He was full of life with a huge personality and a practical joke around every corner. His mischievous grin and laugh will be particularly missed. He was deservingly proud to be an active single father for Nicole, a great provider, and even mentored his cousin’s children as their “Uncle”. He truly loved animals. He exceptionally loved his dogs and filled his life and home with them over the years. He always had a pack to keep him company. Missing their pack leader now are his babies Lulu, Rex, Jackson, Louie, Ace, and Mateo. Kenneth C. Kuff, Jr. (Kenny) Given the native name Spirit Bear, residing in Madison Heights Va. Born December 31st 1984 age 36. Survived by his wife Lauren, sons Kristopher and Kenneth Kuff, III and stepson, Charlie McCool. Also survived by his Father Kenneth Kuff ,Sr.; sister, Keya Kuff; and his nephew, Andrew. He lost his beloved mother, Sharon Munson in Sept of 2020. He was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape tribe out of Bridgeton NJ, and he had a very special bond with many of his cousins. Kenny was born in New Castle DE and spent most of his life in New Jersey. He graduated from Clayton High School and went to Strayer University. Kenny loved figuring things out; he enjoyed fixing cars, he was able to fix just about anything, and was a very capable carpenter. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Flyers and enjoyed playing street hockey, so much so that he briefly coached his own team. Kenny loved finding a, “good bargain” and truly enjoyed learning new things. He loved taking drives with no real destination and listening to different types of music the whole way. He loved being spontaneous and taking random road or day trips. Kenny was a proud and dedicated father who was always silly and loving to his boys. Those who knew him best are going to miss his smile that could light up the room, his laughter, wit, and his huge and kind heart. Services will be held privately in NJ. Amanda Lynn Campbell, 32, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was born in Bedford, VA on May 16, 1989 a daughter of James Everett Campbell and Sandra Fielder Campbell. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ashley Janowicz; and grandparents, Paul and Mary Campbell, and Brady Fielder. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her fiancé, Jeremy Johnson; step-mother, Cindy Campbell; brothers, Brady Campbell, Andrew Foster, Patrick Campbell; sister, Danielle Foster; special friend, Ellen Deane; Korbin Johnson, whom she thought of as a son; and numerous other family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Peaksview Christian Church with Ricky St. Clair officiating. Malcolm Claude Stevens, 70, of Bedford, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021. He was born in Bedford, VA on July 7, 1951 a son of the late Raymond Edward Stevens and Beulah Bates Stevens. He is survived by his wife, Crystal “Penny” Burkholder Stevens; daughter, Kathy Mayhew and husband Ronny; son, Jason Stevens and wife Stephanie; grandchildren, Isaak Mayhew, Lydia Mayhew, Kaylin Stevens, Jacob Stevens; brothers, Phil Stevens and wife Millie, and Lewis Stevens; numerous nieces and nephews; and his church family that he dearly loved. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Smith officiating. William Hinrichs Jenkins, 82, of Lynchburg, died Sunday December 5 at home after a prolonged illness. He was a son of the late Rev. Stanleigh Edward Jenkins and Mary Agnes Brown Jenkins. He was also preceded by a brother, Stanleigh Edward Jenkins Jr., MD.  He is survived by his wife, Aline Cleveland Bowles Jenkins, his daughters Sarah Jernigan Jenkins Alsobrooks (Brad), Lydia Hinrichs Jenkins Gardner (Steve), their mother Molly Roper Jenkins. three granddaughters Clara Jernigan Alsobrooks, Virginia Burge Alsobrooks, and Emerson Sage Gardner, and a grandson Jacob Hinrichs Gardner. Also surviving is his brother-in-law, William. L. Bowles (Tanis).  Mr. Jenkins held a BS from The University of The South (Sewanee), a Masters in Science Teaching from the National Science Foundation, and an associate degree in Theology from the Christian Life School of Theology. After a tour in the US Navy, he taught in the Norfolk (Va.) public schools and then at Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg) for more than 20 years.  In Norfolk, he was an active member of Norfolk Savoyards and continued to sing in Gilbert & Sullivan productions at the Lynchburg Fine Arts Center. He was a member of The Order of St. Luke and Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Monday December 13 at Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Rivermont Avenue.  The family requests that memorials be sent to Virginia Episcopal School, Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church, or The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Arrangements by Burch-Messier Funeral Home, Bedford, 540-586-7360.
