David Eric Hedberg, 76, of Bedford died Wednesday, November 27, 2019. He was born in Altoona, PA. November  5, 1943 a son of the late Carl Nils Hedberg and Helen Mae Clabaugh Hedberg. David is survived by his wife Anna Mary Still Hedberg; son Kyle Hedberg; daughter Charity Lewis (Jim); stepson Jeff Gaylord; step daughter Beth Ann Markman; granddaughter Brittni Gaylord; brother Pete Hedberg and Numerous friends.

James Elton Floyd, 84, of Monroe, husband of Lillian Hughes Floyd for 38 years, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his home.  Dementia and cancer of the bone took its toll. He was born on August 10, 1935 in Amherst County, son of the late William Floyd and Eunice Jennings Floyd. A backhoe operator, he was self-employed and ran J. E. Floyd Construction Co until his retirement when he opened Floyd’s Backhoe Service. James joined the Navy when he was 17 years old and served 7 years. James grew up in the First Baptist Church of Monroe where he served on the finance and buildings and grounds committees and sang in the choir. In addition to his wife Lillian, he is survived by his three children, J. A. Floyd (Kim), Karen F. Banton (Tony), Dawn F. Floyd; four step-children, Steven Harvey (Barb), Howard Harvey (Bronwyen), Brian Harvey (Suzanne) and Pamela H. Howell (Tom); two sisters, Madeline Mawyer and Elsie Jessee; grandchildren include Jason Floyd (Casey), Amanda Floyd, Brian Banton (Tabatha), Brittany Crawley (Daniel) and Damian Floyd (Nicole); step-daughter Hope Collier (Tim); as well as ten great and six step-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil and R. Leroy Floyd and his sister, Shirley F. Gowen. He was life member of the Lions Club. The family will receive friends at 12:00 noon to 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church of Monroe followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:30 PM Saturday, November 30, 2019.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in his memory to the First Baptist Church of Monroe. Those beautiful blue eyes closed for the last time while surrounded by her family who held her hands as she transitioned to her Savior’s arms. Jeannette Rice Tomlinson Eubank passed away from this life on November 16, 2019. A fighter until her last breath, she had overcome numerous obstacles and endured tremendous pain but had an incredible will to live. Jeannette was predeceased by parents, Eric and Ethel Rice; and her son, Paul Tomlinson. She is survived by her son Brian Tomlinson (Mary); daughter, Lisa Mann (Jack); beloved grandchildren, Isaac Mann, Sarah Mann (Codie); brother, Ronnie Rice (Barbara); sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Finch (Ralph); father of her children, Wray Tomlinson; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was blessed with dear friends Cathy, Doris, Mickey, Karen, Fay, Kenny, all of her Pip Printing friends and caregivers, Rhonda and Polly. Her family would like to thank Paladin Transport’s angels, Lynchburg UVA dialysis angels, Kindred nursing and therapy, and Dr.’s Stowers and Ploch. She was a true inspiration to her family and loved them fiercely. A member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church, her visitation will be held there on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with light refreshments to follow in Camden Hall. Raymond Daniel “Buddy” Forgie, 90, left his earthly home to join his loved ones on November 15, 2019. Those that went before him were his wives, Hazel and Annie Mae; son, Daniel; brothers, Bill, Eddie, David; sister, Alice; and step-son, Carey. Buddy was born in Goose Creek Valley, Montvale, VA to William “Ray” and Bonnie Bell Forgie. He joined the Navy on November 1, 1951 and was discharged on October 30, 1958. Buddy was a loving father and step-father. He loved spending his time with his family and friends. He is survived by four sisters, Mary Sue, Nancy, Ruby, and Iva; step-children, Roger Fizer (Reva), David Fizer (Donna), Kathy St. Clair, Theresa Loyd (Chuck); step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Walnut Grove Union Church. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00, on Tuesday, November 19, at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel, 1235 Walnut Street, Bedford. Connie Lynn Stamper Orange, 71, of Mount Airy, North Carolina died Thursday, November 14, 2019. Connie was born in Ohio on February 10, 1948 a daughter of the late Paul Stamper and Samantha Lewis Stamper. In addition to her parents, Connie was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jerry “Trick” Orange. Connie is survived by her husband of 50 years Roger Thomas Orange; son, Christopher Orange; daughter, Kelly Orange McCormick and husband Danny; granddaughter, Hayden McCormick; brother, Larry Stamper and wife Yvonne; sisters-in-law, Regina Cheek and husband Troy, Denise Lang, Kay Orange; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Cool Spring Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastors Earl Ragland, Geoff Hubbard, and Eric Pennington officiating. Vincent Philip Demshar, 84, of Forest, Virginia passed away peacefully in his home on November 10, 2019. He was the husband of Carol J. (Marolt) Demshar for 64 years. He was born on August 17, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio. Vincent’s first love, besides Carol and their chidren, was raising, training, and showing his Arabian horses. Vincent will be missed by his beloved dog, Penny.  Vincent managed the family business, Demshar Magnavox, in Euclid, Ohio for 30 years prior to retiring from Fed Ex. In 2012, Vincent and Carol began their retirement by relocating to Forest, Virginia. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Viola Demshar. In addition to his wife, he is surivived by one son, Rex A. Demshar (Edith); two daughters Vicki L. Suhy (Raymond) and Kim M. Nicholson (Ronald); seven grandchildren, Steven R. Demshar, Erika O. King (George), Kevin R. Demshar (Lindsay), Ryan L. Suhy (Julie Toren), Alan R. Suhy, Nicole M. Nicholson, Nash E. Nicholson; four great grandchildren, Brody and Avery King, and Gabriel and Emerie Demshar. Vincent is survived by his younger brother, Ralph Demshar (Judy).
