Nancy Kaye Salyer “also known to others as Katy, Nanny Kate, or KK”, 74, of Bedford, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026. She was born in Bedford, VA on June 14, 1951 a daughter of the late William Howard Salyer and Mary Jane Saunders Salyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Lee Salyer; and son-in-law, Edward Lewis Overstreet, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Ann Overstreet; son, Travis Wilton Radford; grandchildren, Kristopher Blake Radford, Austin Nicholas Radford, Joshua Michael Overstreet, Luchian Lee Radford-Williams; great-grandson, Rhett Walker Radford; brother, Joseph Martin Salyer and wife Barbara; sister-in-law, Marietta Mae Salyer; nieces, April Dawn Phillips, Summer Diane Salyer, Rebecca Lee Salyer, Kimberly Pearl Torres; nephew, Jimmy Lee Armel; and special friend, Bonnie Hartman.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center and Oakwood Manor for their care of Katy.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Thaxton Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Krantz officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 5:00 p.m. A private burial with family will be held at a later date.
