Mildred Joyce Adcock (Gray)
April 27, 1941 – April 15, 2026
Mildred Joyce Adcock, lovingly known as “Mamaw,” passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, just days before her 85th birthday. Born on April 27, 1941, Mildred lived a life rooted deeply in faith, family, and unwavering love.
Mildred was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was strong in her faith and carried that strength into every season of her life. Known for her loving and empathetic heart, her loyalty, and her gentle kindness, she was the kind of woman who made everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. Taking care of others wasn’t just something she did — it was who she was.
She found joy in the simple but meaningful things: reading a good book, playing bingo, and most of all, caring for the people she loved. One of the most cherished memories her family holds close is Christmas mornings filled with dancing and singing, her laughter echoing through the house. Her cooking brought everyone to the table, but it was her love that truly nourished them. She also shared a very special and treasured bond with her niece, Michelle, whose relationship meant so much to her throughout the years.
Mildred is survived by her devoted husband, Eugene Adcock; her children, Laura, Timothy, and Butch; her brother, Billy Gray; 8 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren — each one a living testament to the beautiful legacy she built.
She was preceded in death by her first love, Crawford Hinkle; her beloved daughter, Shelly; and her great-grandson, Gavin, and 8 siblings, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
Her life was one of quiet strength, steady faith, and endless love. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing her spirit lives on in the traditions she created, the lessons she taught, and the generations who carry her love forward.
