H. Weldon Preston went to be with his Lord on June 8, 2026. He was born in Rustburg, VA on November 1, 1935.
Weldon was a faithful and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joyce Gallaher Preston; his sons, Keith Preston and Terry Preston; and a very special daughter-in-law, Stacey Preston; grandchildren, Meagan Preston and Mitchell Preston; and a brother, William S. Preston (Pat); and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by a brother, Paul S. Preston and two sisters, Dorcas P. Hagar and Ruth P. Rose.
Weldon was a Korean war veteran and a retired employee of General Electric and Ericsson.
He was also devoted to his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and was a founding member of Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg where he was a member.
A service celebrating Weldon’s life and faith will be held at Virginia Memorial Park, Forest at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, June 12, 2026 with Pastors James Clark and Wayne Buchtel officiating. Internment to immediately follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Garst Mill OPC in Roanoke or Grace OPC in Lynchburg.
