Howard Lane Roberts, known to many as Lane, passed away on June 5, 2024, in Bedford, Virgina, at the age of 71. Lane was born in Bedford, Virginia, and was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. Lane was a kind and generous soul who showed respect to everyone he encountered. Despite facing challenges, he never placed blame on others. A talented musician, Lane mastered several instruments and composed music throughout his lifetime. In his later years, he found solace in his faith and the love of his family. Lane will be deeply missed by his surviving siblings, Tack Roberts, Lisa Giffen, Lynn Roberts, Karl Rotherbach; as well as his cousins, Bobby Roberts and Gypsy Roberts; and his aunt, Nancy Roberts. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Roberts; mother, Georgina Roberts; and brother, Eric Roberts. Lane attended Douglas Southhall Freeman High School in his youth. He was a dedicated student and cherished his educational experiences. The funeral arrangements for Lane are being handled by Burch-Messier Funeral Home in Bedford, Virgina. Services will not be held as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers or contributions, the family requests prayers and thoughts for Lane’s peaceful rest with his maker.
