Edith Lorene James Weeks, 85, of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. She was born in Bedford, VA on August 17, 1939 a daughter of the late Herbert Gillette James and Nettie Hurt James. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gene Weeks. She retired from Bunker Hill Foods with 41 years of service. Edith is survived by her two sons, David G. Weeks (Donna), Douglas J. Weeks (Cindy); step-daughter, Kimberly W. Lucas; grandchildren, Jill C. Lipscomb, Joshua D. Weeks (Ashley), Jessica A. Weeks, Cameron “C.J.” Weeks; great-grandchildren, Stella Weeks, Cayden Goff, Jamison Weeks, Taylor Goff; and brother-in-law, William T. McGuire. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Walnut Street Chapel, 1235 Walnut Street, Bedford with Rev. Philip Parker officiating.
