David Wayne Holzworth, Sr. affectionally know as Dave, 52, of Lexington, VA passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Dave was born in Lamarque, TX on December 1, 1971. He is survived by his sons, Zachary Holzworth (Mary Catherine Brown) and DW Holzworth, Jr. (Lauren Hall); his parents, Jesse (Pops) and Bonnie Fitzgerald; brother, Jim Holzworth; niece, Marisa Holzworth, and a special great-nephew, Michael Strumb. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Leigh Ann Forquer. Dave was a skilled carpenter and built houses at the Ponds subdivision in Lexington, VA, but he was happiest with a paint brush in his hand. A celebration of David’s life will be held at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steels Taven, VA at 2:00 p.m, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, officiated by Reverand Sarah Hill. Family will receive friends one hour before the service.
