Margie Lorana Amos Wheeler, 81, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born in Bedford on December 17, 1942 a daughter of the late Joseph Spencer Amos and Hazel Jeanette Dooley Amos. Margie was a retired seamstress with Sam Moore and was a member of Suck Spring Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Amos; sisters, Paula Karnes and Betty Karnes; nephews, Jason Amos, Michael Gray and Bobby Karnes; a brother-in-law, Donnie Gray. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Edward Wheeler; her brother, David Amos (Barbara); her sister, Sally A. Gray; brothers-in-law, Ray Karnes and Robert Karnes and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Michael Cox and Rev. Jerry Parr officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Suck Spring Baptist Church, 3887 Jopling Rd., Bedford, VA 24523.
