
Charles Vincent Sheusi, Sr.
April 13, 1931 – July 8, 2023
In remembrance of Charles (Chuck) a service and visitation / reception will be held at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Chuck retired as the head psychologist of the Lynchburg city school system. He was a U.S. Army veteran and involved with many charities and organizations. He is survived by a brother, Dr. Carl James Sheusi and wife Maryann of Naples, FL; sons, Charles (Vince) Sheusi Jr., Robert Mallo Sheusi, Carl Thomas Sheusi and grandchildren; Caroline Harris Sheusi and Charles Sedwick (Wick) Sheusi. He is also survived by many caring cousins, nieces, nephews, devoted friends and family members. Estelle R. Rosazza Gray, passed away peacefully at Bedford County Nursing Home on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Born in Bedford County on March 14, 1925, she came home to her roots for the last six years of her life. Estelle loved sewing and working in her yard and flowers. But her first love was her church and especially the Women’s Missionary Union. She served faithfully as a member of a circle, president of her church’s WMU and served on the Kentucky WMU Board of Directors on 3 separate occasions. She also taught toddlers in Sunday School for over 15 years. Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, Grat and Berta Rosazza; sisters, Ellen Quarles and Laura Ayres; her beloved husband of 63 years, George T. Gray and daughter, Teresa Rollins. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Gray; granddaughter, Traci Plympton (J. Ryan Randall) and four great grandchildren: Anna, Madison, Maya and Jacob Smith; son-in-law, Kenneth Rollins, sister Edley Rosazza Updike; brother, Grat L. Rosazza, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 11:00 a.m. in the Burch-Messier Chapel, 1235 Walnut St., Bedford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Charlotte Lynn Eakin, 66, of Roanoke, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Lexington, Va on July 12, 1956, a daughter of Martha Ann Kirby Dorry and the late Blair William Eakin, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Monte Shawn Eakin and Troy Dwayne Eakin. She loved life and had many wonderful friends and was loved by everyone that met her. Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Ellie and Zena, the beach, fishing and bowling, having won an IGBO fellowship award. Up till the end she loved her LGBT community. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her, step father, Gerald Derrick Dorry; her sister, Latonia Nicole Cooper and husband, Jackie; niece, Chyanne Renea Cooper, nephew, Dakota Dean Cooper and her niece, Amanda Renee Eakin; her partner, Di Whitcraft; her friend of 45 years, Rhonda Sandidge; her friend of 35 years, Lori Munford; her friend of 25 years, Wendy Nadell. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Green Ridge Recreation Center, 7415 Wood Haven Rd Roanoke, VA 24019.
