Murrill Lyle Johnson, 90, of Bedford, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021. He was born in Bedford on December 28, 1930 a son of the late Robert and Annie Mason Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William Lyle Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen Mayhew Johnson; three daughters, Mary Lou Laughlin (Greg); Amy Galaini (Mitch); Laura Ruff (John); seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Johnson (Shirley); a sister, Priscilla Goff (Jim); many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 in Virginia Memorial Park with Rev. Russell Alden officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Burch-Messier Walnut Street Chapel.
