Edwin “Ray” Trent, Sr., 86, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021. He was born in Bedford, VA on February 9, 1935, a son of the late Marvin Griffin Trent and Ilene Spradlin Trent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Little Trent; and his siblings, Marvin Lee Trent, Violette Gay Trent, Richard “Jack” Alexander Trent, “Roy” Eugene Trent, and Nancy Trent Johnson. He is survived by his children, Pamela Trent Cole (Randy), Edwin “Eddie” R. Trent, Jr. (Kathy), Gary M. Trent (Andrea), Lisa Trent Moneymaker (Mike); grandchildren, Sara Cole, Christopher “Chris” Cole, Marissa Moneymaker, Michael Moneymaker; and great-grandson, Robert “Lane” Campbell. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Michael Cox officiating. The family would like to thank Carriage Hill for their care and attention to Ray and thanks also to Dianne Spradlin Nichols for her many visits and care for their dad. John Chester “Frog” Davis August 14, 1962 – June 14, 2021 John Chester “Frog” Davis, 58 of Rice, VA passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 in Dillwyn VA. He was born on August 14, 1962 to the late William Monroe and Hazel Grace Ashby Davis. He is proceeded in death by his parents; grandparents; and four brothers, James, Terry Wayne, Richard and Randy. Mr. Davis was a beloved son, brother and uncle. He is survived by his brothers, Andy Davis and Mary of Appomattox and Harry Davis of Green Bay, VA; along with six nieces and nephews, JD (Mayumi), Stephen (Laura), Amanda, Carlyon, Kelly, and Money (Robin) Davis. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Heritage Hall of Dillwyn for the compassionate care they gave over the last couple of years. The family will be holding a family and friends gathering on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 5-7pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Buckingham, VA., and any other time at the residence of Andy Davis in Appomattox VA. Mark Allen Moran, 45, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 after a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Moran and Lois Stultz Moran. He is survived by a brother, David and wife Lisa; niece, Julia Moran; nephew, Andrew Moran and wife Chelsea; aunts; uncles; cousins; and Gail, his mate for the past 11 years. Mark will be greatly missed by his family and his friends at Roads to Recovery where he was an inspiration to many. Johnny L. Carter, 78, of Bedford went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 7, 2021. He was born in Bedford, VA on October 30, 1942, a son of the late James Morris Carter and Geneva Wilkes Carter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy L. Carter. Johnny was retired from Rubatex and was an avid Nascar fan. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be missed. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Carter and Larry Flournoy; son, Timothy Carter and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Emily Cook and husband, Petie, Dakota Carter and Lisa Coffey, Tiffany Wood; sister, Linda Goad and husband, Freddie; and many other family members whom he loved. Robert Lee Fitch, 69 of Huddleston, VA. entered eternal rest on June 6, 2021@430pm. He was born February 14, 1952. Robert was a friendly man that had a way of making people feel accepted. Robert never met a stranger and he cherished his relationships with his staff, friends, and family. Robert loved fried chicken and he talked about eating at Bojangles and KFC every day. He enjoyed attending church, listening to music, dancing and watching his favorite television programs (General Hospital and Westerns). Robert enjoyed creative storytelling as he often shared his adventures while living at Central Virginia Training Center. He lived with his niece, Tracey and her husband, Brian Anderson, who own and operate Mountain View Residential, Inc. for many years. Robert loved his niece and often shared that she spoiled him. Robert was proceeded in death by his parents (James Fitch Sr. and Violet P. Fitch); four sisters, (Isabell Fitch, Mary Ana Fitch, Theresa Foreman and Betty Jean Mosley). Robert leaves to cherish his memory his two brothers, (James and Frank Fitch); one sister, (Mattie Chambers); niece, Tracey and Brian Anderson; dedicated and loving caregivers; a host of nieces and nephews, friends and dedicated staff. Robert loved having a “cookout”. The Anderson will host a cookout to share sentiments and memories of Robert at a later date.
